I have been a fan of Miami Ink for some time now. I have pretty much watched the show since it first came out as the world of tattoos really interests me. It was on Miami Ink that I was first introduced to Kat Von D. Kat is amazing and her work of black and white portrait tattoos really caught my attention right away. So when I heard that she was heading back to Los Angeles to open her own tattoo parlor and start her own show I got excited. Her skills are beyond the average tattoo artist and she definitely deserves her own shop. My growing interest in both Kat and tattoos meant that as soon as LA ink aired I had to watch, and that is exactly what I did.
The thing is that I used to be an artist, a real artist. I got a full scholarship my freshman year of high school to the San Fransisco Academy of Art. A last minute move and some life decisions though lost me my scholarship and I slowly pulled away from the world of art. I then went into a world of graphic design but it is just not the same. Although I have never been into tattoos the artistic side of this world really draws my attention. I have actually thought about getting Starter Tattoo Kit and just having if I have some skill with a tattoo gun. I just think this would be a good life change and get me back on the artistic side of my brain.
