Hard to FInd Work

12/19/08 | 84 words | Categories: Career & Job Opportunities

It is getting harder and harder to find work as each day passes. I thought at first that maybe some more places would have some jobs open up but boy was I wrong. Not only are there less jobs, companies are still letting people go therefore flooding the workers pool with more and more people. I talked to a friend the other day who said that his bank just fired 135,000 people nationwide this week. This is unheard of, will we ever find work again?

Gotta Make Some Money

11/11/08 | 84 words | Categories: Career & Job Opportunities

With the economy the way it is the job market is really suffering. Apparently, the unemployment rate in Florida is higher than the national average so it is not looking good for me. I have been looking into all sorts of different ways to make money and not finding many options. I have even looked into a few places that offer a reasonable small business opportunity. I just don't know if I am going to find what I need to get through the holidays.

Job Opportunity

I was recently told about this great job opportunity for this national defense contractor. It is a perfect job for me and I really hope I get it. The only thing is that I am a little bit worried about the employment screening. I say that becuase they do a full federal and credit screening on all employees. Although I have never been in any sort of trouble I am in a great deal of debt and that might pose a problem.

Higher Education = Better Job Chances

09/30/08 | 150 words | Categories: Career & Job Opportunities

If there is one thing that I have always believed in it is continued education. The reason for this is simple. The economy is in trouble and the job market is declining. With all that happening jobs are becoming more scarce and therefore there are more candidates for any one particualr job. Now when that happens, employers are going to be more picky about whom they hire. They will go with the people with all the advanced degrees and experience rather than just the candidate with experience. That is why there are so many places out there now where you can get an online degree. Check them out and see if continuing your education online is something that you may be interested in. Who knows where this job market is going to go.

Is the Economy in the Toilet?

09/05/08 | 90 words | Categories: Career & Job Opportunities

Wow, I just saw that the national unemployment rate just jumped up to 6.1% that is not good. The U.S. lost more jobs than forecast in August and the unemployment rate climbed to a five-year high of 6.1 percent, a sign that the economic slowdown is worsening two months before Americans elect their next president. This is not good news no matter how you look at it. Payroll fell and the increase in the jobless rate sent the misery index, which adds unemployment to inflation, to 11.7 percent, the highest level since 1991.
