eBay Getting Harder

05/04/07 | 120 words | Categories: Business

It seems like it is getting harder and harder to turn a profit on eBay lately. Sure if you find some stuff in your attic and want to sell it to make some extra cash, it is great, but when you are a powerseller who relys on eBay for an income things have been tough. It just seems that lately there are more and more people getting into the eBay world and offering products that I usually sell for a set amount, much lower than I am even able to get them. Competition is good, but too much competition and I will be going out of business. Maybe I should try moving to a more unusual harder to find product?

Backup Online

04/23/07 | 235 words | Categories: Business

For anyone who has ever had a computer crash, which I am pretty sure is everyone who has ever owned a pc, I have to make one suggestion; IBackup - Online Storage. A couple months ago my Inspiron E1705 crashed, the screen turned blue and kept giving me a crazy error message. Well, let's just say after more than three hours on the phone with my computer manufacturer, they assured me that I had to reformat the hard drive and start over and everything would be fixed. Well, they were wrong. Not only was it not fixed, I lost everything I had on my hard drive. Finally they agreed to send a technician out to look at. He opened it up, replaced the graphics card and all was better. Which means I was forced to erase my hard drive just as a test procedure to try and help the computer company save the cost of sending out a tech. Don't let this happen to you too.

The first thing I did when that guy left was to sign myself up for an online backup system. The best part about this system is that it actually makes your online folder appear as a mapped drive on your computer so you can use a simple drag and drop or copy and paste to safely backup your files. It doesn't get any better than that.

eBay's New Feedback System

04/22/07 | 101 words | Categories: Business

eBay has just announced that coming soon they will be making some exciting changes to their feedback system. The new system instead of just allowing you to leave a positive, neutral, or negative feedback. Will actually allow you to rate your purchase based on four different categories; accuracy of item description, communication, shipping time, and shipping and handling charges. You will be able to rate each part of your transaction on a scale of 1-5 allowing buyers to see all aspects of purchase history with a potential seller. I think this is going to be great and am looking forward to it.

Looking to Build Your Credit

04/18/07 | 213 words | Categories: Business

If you are looking to fix your credit scores due to a negative history or if you have no credit at all and are looking to establish credit then I will let you in on a couple of my credit building secrets. First start low and work your way up. Get yourself a couple of low dollar amount credit cards, from anyone who will give you credit no matter what the interest rate. Your scores are not affected by what your interest rates are, your interest rates are affected by what your scores are.

If you can not find anyone to give you credit than I suggest a Secured Credit Card, these are a perfect start and the credit reporting agencies don't care if a card is secured or not, they just want to see that someone is loaning you money and you are paying them back on time. Second, no matter what your credit limit is, never take your credit card above half of the available balance. It is better to have to card that have half of the credit used up then to have one card completely available and the other one maxed out. That's all the tips for now, look for future posts for more tips.
